Govan Martin, Suicide Prevention Alliance

Govan's Bio: Govan A. Martin III is a nationally recognized consultant, trainer, and advocate in suicide prevention and law enforcement mental health and wellness. A retired Pennsylvania State Police Corporal with 29 years of service, he directed the agency’s Member Assistance Program before founding the Suicide Prevention Alliance, where he currently serves as Executive Director and Board Chair. With more than two decades of experience providing suicide prevention and crisis intervention training, he is a Master Trainer in QPR, an ASIST Instructor, and a Certified Critical Incident Stress Management Instructor. Govan has led statewide and national initiatives, developed legislation to protect peer support confidentiality, and continues to work with law enforcement, mental health professionals, and communities to reduce stigma, promote resilience, and save lives.
