Dr. Rick Azzaro, Voce
During this interactive session with a panel of statewide experts, participants will explore what trauma-informed communities look like, and surface strategies for building them together.
Rick's Bio: Dr. Rick Azzaro has over 30 years of practice and administrative experience serving victims of family violence. He has provided clinical and administrative leadership for a variety of non-profit human service agencies including residential treatment for children, therapeutic foster care, in-patient adolescent diagnostic center, special education high school for inner-city boys, domestic violence shelter, sexual assault center and the Pennsylvania Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN).
Rick is currently licensed to practice clinical social work in Maryland and Pennsylvania. He completed his Doctorate in Clinical Social Work (DSW) at the University of Pennsylvania under the tutelage of leaders in the field including Dr. Richard Gelles, Dr. Richard Gardner, Dr. Scott Easton and Dr. Sandy Bloom. Rick is a member of the Board of Directors for the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA).
Rick served as a part-time professor for 15 years in the Behavioral Sciences department at York College Pennsylvania and has presented several trainings nationally on the topics of; trauma male sexual abuse, family violence and child welfare. He is currently the Executive Director for Voce. Voce provides multidisciplinary human services expertise to cultivate positive, lasting change in people’s lives.
In his spare time, Rick enjoys spending time with his family, playing music and writing songs.
