We Are Voce: Brooke's Story

"I've always lived in northwestern Pennsylvania. I ended up in the same town where I graduated from college.  When I was going to school, I had a few different ideas of what I wanted to do, but I knew that overall, I wanted to work with people and try to make a difference.

After college, I was working as a foster care specialist, and I really enjoyed my job, but when staff from Lawrence County children and youth services reached out to me about a paralegal opening, I decided to go for it. It's really such a blessing to be surrounded by people who encourage you to seek new opportunities. From the paralegal role, I became a coordinator, and for the past 11 years, I’ve been a division manager for the northwest region.

I really love my job. I love supporting our staff and helping develop resources to address barriers in the field of child welfare.  It's really rewarding to meet with staff and see the impact of our work firsthand.  I'm thankful to be part of the work we do and to work for a company that truly cares about their employees.

Outside of work, I’m especially grateful for opportunities to try new things and experience the world around me. I enjoy spending time outdoors, and love traveling, especially to our National Parks. I enjoy Pilates, indoor rock climbing, playing pickleball and most recently, learning how to play the drums. Ultimately, though, I find that whether at work or in my free time, I'm always seeking an opportunity to grow."
