We Are Voce: Kelsey's Story

We Are Voce | Kelsey's Story

"I've always loved working in the legal field. I went to Clarion University for school, and I worked at a law office while I did. I started out studying education because I knew that I wanted to work with kids. But as I got into the major, I realized that I really loved the work I was doing at the law office, so I also studied paralegal work.

Voce turned out to be the perfect place for me to help kids in my community and still work in the legal field. I love what I do. One of my favorite things is when we can find connections for kids through diligent searches - it's just so rewarding to see those connections made. I'm also a real estate agent on the side. That gives me a chance to get out of the headspace of this work and challenge myself in new ways.

I'm a 4H leader as well. I've been doing it for six or seven years now. We do a lot of community service through the club that I run. We do events with the county 4H club, we march in the holiday parades in town, we host trunk or treat events, donate to soup kitchens… it's a lot, but it's really fun to work with the kids. They're ages 13-18, and you really get to see them grow and change as they go through the program and learn to be leaders. I grew up in 4H, which is why I'm still so passionate about it. I got really cool opportunities to travel and learn when I was younger. I love the friendships and connections that I've made.

I'm really community oriented. I like working in my community in a variety of ways, and being able to have an impact in the county where I live is important to me."
